Who We Are:

El Jo Mar Arabians, which was established in 1973, has evolved into a 40 year-old National Champion breeding program that is home to foundation sires Gallant Fashion++ (Ferzon son), Finzak++ (Bask grandson), and Sattire (Sharem El Sheik son).  The idea of El Jo Mar Arabians evolved out of a young girl’s (Marg Forseth) dream to raise and show beautiful horses.  Deciding that only Arabians met this high standard inspired this girl to find the bloodlines that would produce the ideal Arabian.  Years of study, discussion, and top show experience were created on what lines would produce a refined horse and a tractable performance horse.  The answer: The FERZON line, the basis of El Jo Mar’s undisputed success.

In 1973, El Jo Mar and the Forseth’s moved to their newly created horse complex, designed especially to raise, train and breed Arabians.  We carefully assembled a group of top halter champion Skowronek bred mares, with outcrosses to Polish and Egyptian national winning stallions.  This endeavor was accompanied by consultations with Dan Gainey Sr., Jimmy Dean, Victor Kerr, and Gordon Shea on the Ferzon bred stallion suitable for El Jo Mar’s needs.  In May ’76 Gallant Fashion, a young Ferzon son, which embodies the finest Arabian characteristics, was chosen to preserve our aesthetic ideals.

In ’81 The Forseth’s needed an outcross stallion for the Gallant Fashion daughters. FINZAK++, 1981 CANADIAN NATIONAL RESERVE CHAMPION FUTURITY STALLION and 1981 US NATIONAL TOP TEN FUTURITY STALLION joined El Jo Mar.  Finzak++ crossed on the Gallant daughters was instant success.   In 2004 alone, Finzak++ get out of Gallant Fashion daughters sired countless regional and national winners in halter, showmanship, equitation, walk-trot pleasure, hunter pleasure, and sport horse under saddle divisions.

From 1999-2001, the Forseth’s searched for a young stallion to cross on the Finzak++ and Gallant Fashion daughters.  Sattire was the ultimate match.  Sattire produced high quality foals with big dark eyes, refined heads, upright necks, short backs and straight legs.   Characteristics needed of the sport horse type.  Sadly from 2007-2009 tragedy struck El Jo Mar.  We lost both our beloved stallion Sattire and beloved trainer, riding instructor, and friend Kris Forseth.

Then in 2010, Brittany Walberg joined Marg Forseth to help restart up the El Jo Mar program that both Marg and her beloved daughter Kris had put there soul and mind into.  In the fall of 2012, Brittany decided that El Jo Mar needed a new stallion to carry on the El Jo Mar Legacy and introduce LC Psulybration (Padrons Psyche son).  LC Psulybration has produced several beautiful colts and fillies on the Eljomar Arabian farm that love to show off for the camera.  Watch for many of these babies to start entering the show ring very soon.  Once they are put up for sale, they are sold quickly, so keep an eye on the sale page often because you will want to add one of these babies to your farm.

In February of 2015, Brittany and Jeremy Walberg purchased Eljomar Arbains from Marg Forseth so Marg could finally retire after many wonderful years with the farm.  Although, you can often still catch Marg visiting the barn often and offering advice whenever needed.  Brittany is continuing with the excellence that Marg worked so hard to establish.  In October 2015, Brittany took 2 client horses to Tulsa, OK to the National show and came home with Two National Top Ten Titles!

From Gallant Fashion++, to Finzak++ to Sattire and now to LC Psulybration, Eljomar Arabians specializes in raising horses for the youth and amateurs by breeding horses, who are athletic, versatile, intelligent, and willing halter and performance champions at the regional and national levels.  These horses have excelled in dressage, hunter pleasure, working hunter over fences, three day eventing, hunt-seat equitation, western pleasure, showmanship, halter, stock-seat equitation and working cow horse.  Eljomar Arabians, a 40+ year-old breeding program with great aspirations of continuing for another 40 rears.  Midwest’s best kept secret!!
